Challenge 01 - The movement challenge
This challenge is all about moving more.
Our bodies were created for movement, but most of us suffer from living a sedentary lifestyle. These days we spend way more time sitting at our office desk, or laying on the sofa watching Netflix than moving. Our bodies get unconditioned, stiff, we lose muscle, suffer from mobility problems and joints inflexibility. As the saying goes: “use it or lose it”.
So let’s emphasize on getting more movement into our daily routine. A lot of little steps can add up to a great lot. That way we keep our bodies healthier and may prevent future complications, as well as burn some extra calories as a bonus 😊.
So how do I do that? You ask. Here are some suggestions on how to get more movement into your life:
· Use the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.
· Choose walking or biking instead of using the car or bus whenever possible.
· Park your car far end of the parking lot.
· Exit the bus 1 statin earlier and walk the last one.
· Commit to walking at least 3 days a week for 20-40. Take out your dog, walk with a friend or just by yourself listening to your favourite music.
· Take a break every hour and walk around for 5 min or do some stretches.
· Play actively with your kids, don’t just watch them, join in the action.
Or any other idea you might have.
